This wedding had something for everyone. Heartfelt vows, sing-a-longs with the bridesmaids, golfing with the groomsmen, dads in suits (and not fun hats and shorts), shot-ski, some of the best speeches we’ve heard to date!, champagne pops, outfit changes.
Jackie and Alex’s Samoset Resort wedding was so fun that I’m sure it’s going to have a permenant place in their guests memories!
Alex (to Jackie): Can we do the skipping one?
Jackie: Absolutely!
::Groomsmen skipping::
Bridesmaid: Jackie?
Jackie: It’s ok! I approved it.
Flowergirl (yelling from across the field): They’re so weird!!
I feel like that interaction after the first look, during the family portraits, pretty much sums up the entire day. It was fun!
From the speeches everyone learned how Jackie and Alex first met. It wasn’t love at first sight, in fact it took about two years after they met for them to start dating. Of course Jackie will tell you that she’s pretty sure Alex was in love with her from the very beginning. But due to some things early on, like the fact that Alex was Jackie’s brothers roommate several states away from where Jackie lived, it took a while for them to get together. It could have been that Jackie also lived in Boston – an area famous for sports teams all of which were all on Alex’s list of least favorite teams. A fact that was brought up so many times throughout the day!
For their Samoset Resort wedding the couple brought their mutual love for golf (or at least saying choice words while golfing) into their day and hosted their wedding on the grounds overlooking the course and ocean.
We couldn’t have been more thrilled to work with these two over the past year plus from their engagement photos, to capturing Jackie’s family in Cape Cod, to their wedding. We truly love getting to see them all again and can’t wait to work with them more in the future!
