Justin Timberlake may have brought “sexy back” but Christine and John brought Jersey back to the mountains of Maine. And it was a BLAST! As Maine Wedding photographers we get to work with couples from all over the country who choose Maine as their destination wedding spot. For Christine and John having a Sugarloaf Outdoor Center wedding was an easy choice – Christine has been vacationing here with her family for years. In fact, chatting with some of Christine’s family and they have had property in the Sugarloaf area going on over 60 years. That’s a lot of tradition and a lot of great memories. It’s only natural they wanted to share this special place with all of their friends and extended families.
Both Christine and John got ready in traditional ski condos with their wedding parties – both had amazing views and were great places to gather. The guys even had a pool table in the basement where John played a few rounds with the guys. It was all laughs and smiles all morning – which I’m pretty sure helped clear the weather for everyone. The forecast read on Friday that Saturday would be rain from start to finish, but with some good juju from everyone the rain cleared out for their mountaintop first look, then for their ceremony, and eventually for the entire night! You could see the storms to the sides of us, but it never hit us!
While they did avoid the rain, we did end up doing their first look inside a cloud. While we didn’t get the stunning views the top of Sugarloaf has to offer we did get the most romantic cloudy/foggy scenes that more than made up for the lack of view. Plus we got some really awesome scenes on the ride up and down on the chair lift. I’d consider that a win! And it felt like Christine and John had the world to themselves. As John put it, they were on cloud 9 – literally.
There were a few rogue mountain bikers that made some sneaky appearances throughout the day, which Dean and I loved! It showcased the true “outdoor” part of the Outdoor Center. You’ll see them below in the sneak peek because we loved the photojournalistic aspect of the images.
Everyone had such a great time that night dancing and eating. The caterers, Food Truck, cake and tiny donuts kept everyone fueled up and partying out with the DJs all evening. Check out below for some of the amazing images from their day.
