They say rain on your wedding day is good luck. Colleen and Christian now have ALL the good luck and they definitely cashed in a bit of that good luck for their Old Orchard Beach Wedding when the rain that was forecasted for during their wedding decided to come in early, clearing out just in time for their ceremony on the deck of their vacation home.
These two opted for a small, personal ceremony at the vacation home where they’ve spent summers for so many years. Surrounded by their siblings, parents and their 5 children, Colleen and Christian exchanged their vows in one of their favorite spaces. They took time during their ceremony to address each of their children in a heartfelt speech thanking them all for being so welcoming of blending their families together and promises for the future.
I know it can be torture being at the beach as a kid and NOT being able to go swimming but they were able to hold off until after the ceremony before everyone ran back to the house and greeted guests before changing into bathing suits and heading back to the beach to go for a swim.
While the kids were swimming the adults were back at the rental house for a fully catered dinner and champagne toasts with all their additional family and friends that were in the area. Family walked from homes all over the area to join in and toast the couple.
This week has been a week of small weddings with couples who really love Maine and visit often so I can’t wait to connect with Christian and Colleen on their next trip up to Maine!
