Anjali and Nick’s Hindu and American Scotland Fields, York Maine Wedding

If there was one day that was entirely leg day, Anjali and Nick’s wedding would be it. Dean and I got a full body workout for the full day on this one – but it’s okay because Anjali’s aunties kept insisting we eat all the yummy Indian food throughout the day. And when the bride’s auntie tells you that you have to try something, you try it! From practically sun up until way after sun down this wedding did not stop!

It has been a long time since Anjali and Nick’s family have had a chance to get together, let alone for a big event. They wanted a big epic party and they certainly got one!

Anjali and Nick met through mutual friends at a local dive bar in Burlington, VT so there were a lot of personal touches that reflected that including late night Ben and Jerry’s ice cream!

I can’t even mention how many personal touches and amazing details from their day. I don’t even think I could include them all in the sneak peek below without fully editing the entire wedding in one sitting – which I’d love to do, but I also need to sleep!

The day started with Anjali and Nick getting ready for the Hindu ceremony each in separate houses on the Scotland Fields property. Nick and his guys were busy getting into their attire and relaxing while Anjali was in hair and makeup and her girls were getting wrapped into their sari’s. One of Anjali’s aunties was key in getting everyone into their outfits on time!

Nick arrived in style to the start of the ceremony in a BMW for the Baraat. Anjali was getting dressed in her sari and was able to see the entire procession from the window of the bridal suite. Once it was her turn for her entrance she and her ladies came out the front of the farm house where they covered her with a piece of silk so that Nick wouldn’t see her as she approached the mandap. He wouldn’t actually get to see Anjali at all until the perfect time in the ceremony when the veil between them was dropped.

There’s so much to their ceremony I may have to write an entirely separate blog post to go over everything as we are so in love with the intricacies of the ceremony and how much meaning everything has. But I think our favorite from the day was the rice that was ceremoniously thrown at the couple as a symbol of blessing on their marriage.

We know, after being with these two all day that their marriage is certainly blessed! Their love for each other is so apparent and their love for their families is just as deep.
