There is something truly special about an intimate wedding day surrounded by the people you love most. Xara and Matt’s Ash Point Estate Wedding in Owls Head, Maine, was a beautiful fall celebration with just over 40 of their closest family members and friends. From getting ready with their dogs nearby to a heartfelt ceremony overlooking the water and a packed dance floor, every part of their day felt personal, joyful, and completely them.

Located in Owls Head along the coast of MidCoast Maine, Ash Point Estate is a private oceanfront wedding venue set across 32 acres. The estate combines the historic character of a Greek Revival manor with modern event spaces, expansive grounds, and beautiful views overlooking Penobscot Bay. Its gardens, waterfront scenery, and accommodations make it a setting designed for both intimate celebrations and larger wedding gatherings.

For Xara and Matt, the estate provided the perfect backdrop for their fall wedding. The changing season, coastal views, and relaxed atmosphere created a beautiful setting for a day focused on family, friends, and celebrating their relationship.

The morning began with Xara and Matt getting ready in the house across the hall from one another. While they prepared separately, their dogs bounced between the two spaces, making sure neither side missed out on the excitement.

Matt got ready with his two groomsmen, Aiden and Caleb, while Xara spent the morning with Emma and Laurel. With a small guest list and so many close relationships, there was a wonderful sense of familiarity throughout the morning. It felt less like a hectic wedding day and more like a gathering of people who genuinely enjoyed being together.

One of the sweetest parts of the day was how easily their dogs moved between the two groups. They were very much part of the wedding-day experience, checking in on everyone and adding their own brand of energy to the morning.

Rather than rushing through the morning, Xara and Matt made time to enjoy lunch with their friends while exchanging gifts. It was a lovely opportunity to slow down, spend time together, and appreciate the people who had gathered to celebrate them.

Matt received a vintage watch part cleaner, a thoughtful and unique gift that reflected his interests. The couple also received beautiful champagne glasses from a friend, who planned to have them engraved and delivered to the couple after they returned from their honeymoon.

We love details like these because they extend the wedding experience beyond a single day. Every time Xara and Matt use those glasses, they’ll have another reminder of the people who helped make their wedding so special.

Xara and Matt shared their first look on the lawn of Ash Point Estate. With the grounds and coastal setting surrounding them, it was a wonderful moment for the couple to see each other before the ceremony and take in the day together.

After their first look, we headed over to see the reception space, which had been beautifully designed by Charity Lynn Weddings. Every detail came together so thoughtfully, including a meaningful nod to Xara’s culture through the paper lanterns incorporated into the design.

The lanterns complemented the reception space perfectly, adding warmth, texture, and a personal touch to the overall atmosphere. It was a beautiful example of how wedding design can be both visually stunning and connected to a couple’s story.

The ceremony took place with views of Camden Harbor in the distance, creating a breathtaking coastal Maine backdrop for Xara and Matt’s vows.

With their closest family and friends gathered around them, the ceremony felt intimate and meaningful. The setting offered a beautiful combination of Maine’s natural scenery and the warmth of a small gathering, allowing the couple to focus on the commitment they were making to one another.

After the ceremony, it was time to celebrate!

Xara was ready to get the party started, and it didn’t take long for everyone else to join her. From the moment the reception kicked off, the dance floor was full of energy.

In fact, with the exception of the time when the cake was served, the dance floor stayed packed from start to finish. Friends and family danced, laughed, and celebrated alongside the newlyweds, making the evening feel like one continuous party.

We have a feeling Xara and Matt—and their guests—would have happily kept dancing long after the night officially ended.

Xara and Matt’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that a celebration doesn’t need a large guest list to be full of love, energy, and unforgettable moments. With just over 40 of their closest people, they created a day that felt intentional, personal, and joyful from beginning to end.
