Brittany & Nate’s Sunday Brunch Wedding at the Bar Harbor Inn

A wedding doesn’t have to follow the traditional timeline to be unforgettable. Brittany and Nate’s Sunday morning wedding at the Bar Harbor Inn proved that a celebration can be intimate, relaxed, and filled with incredible food, music, and plenty of time to enjoy the people you love. As a Bar Harbor Inn Wedding Photographer, this was such a fun day to document… and it certainly started with an unexpected bit of excitement!

The morning began with everyone getting ready at the inn, and then the fire alarms suddenly went off. The culprit? Steam from steaming Brittany’s wedding dress had apparently wandered a little too close to the smoke detector!

Thankfully, the front desk immediately knew it was a false alarm, so rather than causing any real panic, it became one of those hilarious wedding-day stories everyone will remember. The Bar Harbor Fire Department arrived incredibly quickly, checked everything out, and turned off the alarms. Crisis averted and Brittany’s dress was still looking perfect!

Once things settled down, Brittany and Nate shared their first look in the gardens between the inn and spa. Away from the activity of the morning, they had a few quiet minutes together to take everything in. It was private, emotional, and the perfect way to begin their wedding day.

A Ceremony Overlooking Frenchman Bay

After their first look, Brittany and Nate spent some time with their family and friends before gathering on the lawn for their ceremony. With the Porcupine Islands stretching across the water behind them, the setting couldn’t have been more beautiful.

Adding to the atmosphere was live music from Isiah Bennett, who performed throughout the day. From the ceremony music to the couple’s dances and reception, his music became part of the soundtrack to their entire celebration.

The weather couldn’t have been better. Under sunny skies with gorgeous views of Frenchman Bay, Brittany and Nate exchanged their vows surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.

Brunch, Dancing & Maine Views

Rather than a traditional evening reception, Brittany and Nate treated their guests to a spectacular brunch at the Bar Harbor Inn. And we’re not exaggerating when we say the spread made us want to come back for brunch ourselves!

Guests enjoyed everything from eggs Benedict, bacon, sausage, and waffles with syrup and whipped cream to mushroom ravioli and brisket fried rice. There were so many incredible choices that narrowing down a plate must have been nearly impossible.

After brunch, the celebration continued with dancing and mingling on the balcony overlooking the Porcupine Islands. With the sunshine, beautiful scenery, live music, and plenty of time to simply enjoy one another’s company, the morning reception felt relaxed and completely joyful.

For us as Bar Harbor Inn Wedding Photographers, Brittany and Nate’s wedding was a wonderful reminder that there really is no single right way to celebrate your marriage. Want a Sunday morning ceremony? Do it. Brunch instead of dinner? Absolutely. Live music throughout the day? Yes, please!

Their wedding was beautiful, personal, and full of the kind of moments that make a wedding uniquely yours—from an unexpected fire alarm to a quiet garden first look, a waterfront ceremony, an incredible brunch, and dancing overlooking one of the most beautiful coastlines in Maine.

And honestly, after seeing that brunch spread, we may need to schedule a return visit to the Bar Harbor Inn—this time with reservations just for ourselves!
