It’s not every day we take on a wedding the day before we jet off on an international trip – but this wedding was special! Sam and Dan’s celebration at Seashell Events in Old Orchard Beach was one we’ll never forget. As Old Orchard Beach Wedding Photographers, we’ve had the pleasure of documenting many beautiful weddings along the Maine coast, but this one felt incredibly personal.
We’re fortunate to call Janet and Karen, the wonderful owners of Seashell Events, not just venue owners and colleagues, but dear friends. We’ve spent many days at their beautiful property, so when they asked us to photograph their son Dan’s wedding celebration, there was never a question. We were absolutely honored to be part of such an important family milestone.
Although Sam and Dan officially tied the knot the year before, this celebration was every bit as meaningful. Held just one day before their first wedding anniversary, it was a chance to celebrate their marriage surrounded by the people they love most. Even more special, they were now celebrating as a family of three with their adorable little princess, Miss L., who stole plenty of hearts throughout the day.
The entire celebration embraced a romantic Bridgerton-inspired theme. Elegant florals, soft colors, timeless décor, and classic details transformed the tent at Seashell Events into a garden party worthy of Lady Whistledown’s approval. Guests arrived dressed for the occasion, creating an atmosphere that felt both sophisticated and relaxed.
One of the things we love most about Seashell Events is its location. Nestled in Old Orchard Beach, the venue is just a short walk from the beach, making it easy for couples to enjoy an oceanside ceremony or sneak away for portraits along the shoreline while still being close to the reception. It’s also within walking distance of the famous Old Orchard Beach Pier and downtown, giving out-of-town guests plenty to explore throughout the weekend.
The evening was exactly what a wedding celebration should be—filled with hugs, laughter, heartfelt conversations, delicious food, and a packed dance floor. It wasn’t simply about celebrating one day; it was about celebrating a year of marriage, the beautiful family Sam and Dan have created, and all of the adventures still to come.
As Old Orchard Beach Wedding Photographers, moments like these remind us why we love what we do. Photographing friends is always an honor, but documenting a celebration this full of love, history, and family made it truly unforgettable.
