Ok so this is our first wedding of the season but it’s honestly going to be hard to top this one. When curating the sneaks for this post, I pretty much could have sat and edited the entire wedding – that’s how many “favorites” I selected! I did have to narrow it down or this post wouldn’t have made it up any time soon!
As Sebasco Harbor Resort Wedding Photographers, we’ve seen our share of memorable wedding days, but Haley and Jason’s celebration had a plot twist before the festivities even began.
When I arrived at Sebasco Harbor Resort that morning, the coastal winds were howling. What started as a typical Maine weather story quickly turned into something much bigger when the power suddenly went out. Not just at the resort but across multiple towns in the area. Instantly, everyone shifted into backup mode.
The venue team began preparing to run the reception off generators. The DJ was alerted so he could switch to a wireless setup if needed. Vendors, family members, and staff all started making contingency plans. Despite the uncertainty, everyone remained calm and focused on making sure Haley and Jason’s day would be perfect no matter what happened.
Then, just as quickly as it disappeared, the power came back on.
The reaction was unforgettable.
Cheers erupted from the iconic Lighthouse where the girls were getting ready. The excitement carried down to the oceanfront cottage where the guys were spending the morning and echoed throughout the entire property. Guests and wedding party members scattered across the grounds joined in the celebration, creating one of those unexpected moments that brought everyone together before the day had even truly begun.
With the stress behind them, the wedding day could finally unfold exactly as planned.
Haley spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids inside Sebasco’s iconic Lighthouse. Surrounded by her closest friends and breathtaking views of the harbor. Across the property, Jason and his groomsmen enjoyed a more relaxed morning in a cottage overlooking the ocean, taking in the stunning coastal scenery before the celebrations began.
One of the most emotional parts of the day came before the ceremony.
Haley chose to do a series of first looks, beginning with Jason. After the whirlwind of the morning, she needed the calm and reassurance that only he could provide. The moment Jason turned around and wrapped Haley in his arms, you could visibly see her relax. The stress melted away, replaced by pure excitement and anticipation for the day ahead.
To make the moment even more meaningful, Haley presented Jason with a passage from a journal entry she had written back in 2017 when their relationship was still new. It was a beautiful reminder of how far they had come together and an incredibly personal way to begin their wedding day.
Next came Haley’s brothers.
Their reactions were filled with excitement, pride, and plenty of smiles as they saw their sister in her wedding dress for the first time. But if anyone stole the show, it was Dad.
When Haley’s father arrived for his first look, emotions immediately took over. His teary-eyed entrance had all of us reaching for tissues. It was one of those genuine moments that perfectly captured the love and connection shared throughout the entire family.
The ceremony took place on the lawn overlooking the harbor beneath a dramatic, moody Maine sky. The weather added the perfect atmosphere as friends and family gathered to witness Haley and Jason exchange their vows.
But the couple had one more surprise in store.
Before the ceremony began, Haley and Jason secretly hid their wedding rings beneath one guest’s chair. At the appropriate moment, that lucky guest discovered the rings and had the honor of presenting them to the couple. The surprise delighted everyone and added a fun, memorable twist to an already heartfelt ceremony.
Following their vows, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the lawn while soaking in the ocean views and celebrating with the newlyweds. As the evening continued, everyone moved inside for an incredible reception filled with laughter, dancing, and the kind of joyful energy that comes from a couple who are truly loved by everyone around them.
From the unexpected power outage and triumphant cheers when electricity returned, to emotional first looks and a unique ring presentation during the ceremony, Haley and Jason’s wedding was filled with moments that nobody will soon forget.

Haley and Jason’s celebration was a perfect example of that, and it was an absolute honor to document every moment of their incredible day.
