April in Rhode Island has a way of waking everything up—buds start blooming, the air softens, and by the water, there’s a feeling that anything is possible. That magic was on full display for Kenny and Mari’s unforgettable wedding day at the stunning Aldrich Mansion, one of the most romantic venues on the East Coast.
As a Newport RI wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing love stories across some truly breathtaking backdrops, but Aldrich Mansion in the springtime? It’s in a league of its own.
A Historic Setting Full of Grace
Perched on 70 acres overlooking Narragansett Bay, Aldrich Mansion offers a fairytale setting with sweeping views and timeless architecture. Kenny and Mari embraced the grandeur of the space—balancing elegance with warmth, and tradition with joy.
The couple chose to get ready on-site, which allowed for a slow, meaningful start to the day. Mari slipped into her gown in the softly lit bridal suite while Kenny was in one of the mansion’s classic wood-paneled rooms.
Portraits With History
After the ceremony, we explored the estate for portraits—Aldrich Mansion is a dream for photographers. From the grand staircase to the waterfront lawn and ivy-draped stone walls, every corner is cinematic. Kenny and Mari were naturals in front of the camera.
A Lively Celebration in a Grand Space
Inside, the mansion’s foyer was transformed with candlelight, florals in soft blush and ivory, and elegant tablescapes. The table was staged beneath glowing chandeliers, the hallway decked out in candles of all sizes, an incredible cake stood in an alcove commanding all the attention.
We roamed the mansion throughout the day—discovering cozy sitting rooms and sneaking outside for views. It felt like stepping into a different era, but with all the joy and laughter of the present moment.
Kenny and Mari’s April wedding (while a wedding editorial shoot and not a real wedding) at Aldrich Mansion was a true honor to document.
