I love a small wedding where I end up feeling like I’m part of the family. Kristi and Jason’s Stage Neck inn wedding was just that. As one family member mentioned, they don’t have a ginger in the family yet so they’ll let me in!
Kristi and Jason both love hard rock/heavy metal so this was also the first wedding where Metallica was played during cocktail hour. I love it!
These two spend a lot of their time traveling around hitting up concerts all over the place. Just before the wedding they had gotten back from Metallica and their next show coming up is Iron Maiden. It’s so great when couples really incorporate their personalities in their day and don’t just do things because “that’s the way they’re done”. They incorporated lyrics from their favorite songs as part of the decorations for their reception along with leaning into their last name for the decor with bottles of Cooks champagne on every table. It was the drink of the day and rightfully so!
Kristi started off the day with a first look between her and Jason along with their son as well. It was a perfect moment for these three. After lots of hugs and some portraits they walked back to the hotel to welcome the guests to the start of the ceremony.
The ceremony was officiated by Kristi’s friend and was “short and sweet” to keep the couple from tearing up, but there was definitely some shaky voices during their vows which was so sweet! Just after the ceremony we hopped on a trolley for a quick tour of York and over to Nubble Light for some portraits. It was a fun drive over as many of Kristi and Jason’s guests mentioning how they had an idea of Maine but were surprised by the area and most intend to return again for a vacation. We love hearing that family and friends want to come back, we love sharing Maine with everyone we can.
