Rebecca and Dylan’s Breakwater Inn and Spa wedding started off with just a *bit* of fog. But as luck would have it, the fog pushed out as their ceremony time neared and the warm early fall sunlight came out and warmed family and friends as they witnessed the love between Rebecca and Dylan.
Rebecca started her wedding morning at the private cottage overlooking the river surrounded by her friends and mom. When we arrived the girls were busy with hair and make up, listening to some classic tunes and in the best moods! Shortly after the flowers arrived, the girls remarked on how much it felt like the wedding day was finally here! They were ready to get the celebration underway. Just before they slipped into their bridesmaids dresses, Rebecca presented them with “thank you” gifts – and I was instantly jealous! Rebecca gave each bridesmaid a Instax camera! So while I taught them a little bit about instant/film cameras, they gave me a crash course in Snap Chat. So we’re even. I can’t wait to see what the ladies captured on their cameras! We will be stalking the wedding hashtag on Instagram! #RiddleMeMrs
Dylan and his guys were getting ready over in the Inn by the tent. They were really excited to get the wedding day underway and were almost fully dressed in their suits and ready to go nearly two hours before the ceremony! Dylan, his brothers, and friends, hung out in their room and shared stories from college before having a celebratory shot and heading out the door!
Rebecca and Dylan’s ceremony was so sweet! It was officiated by the wonderful Erika Hewitt – a UU minister who customized their ceremony to include snippets from their first date and sweet details about their marriage and how special their family and friends were. The guests learned all about the couple’s first date at the Lincoln Diner and their time spent at Gettysburg College. A surprise appearance was made by another group of groomsmen arriving to a wedding up river by sailboat. I have to admit, we were very impressed by them! They silently posed on the boat as it sailed by.
Shortly after the ceremony ended and portraits were taken – the fog rolled back in giving the reception a cozy feel as family and friends danced the night away under the heated tent.
The happy couple is off to Tanzania for their honeymoon! Dean and I wish them the best adventures!!
