There’s something undeniably magical about a wedding by the ocean, and for Lisa and Dan, their Stage Neck Inn Wedding in York, Maine, was the perfect setting for their intimate and joyful celebration. Surrounded by only their closest friends and family, they said “I do” in a day filled with laughter, love, and a surprising—and fun—theme: bubble guns!
With 50 guests traveling from as far away as New Zealand and as close as just two miles up the street, Lisa and Dan’s wedding was the perfect blend of international and local love, bringing together people from all over the world for one unforgettable day.
The day began with the bride and groom getting ready in their own unique ways, each surrounded by the people they love most.
Lisa spent the morning at a rental home with her sister and soon-to-be sister-in-law. True to her fun-loving nature, she and her sister didn’t spend the morning stressing over details—instead, they practiced their Australian Olympic breakdancing moves in the living room, filling the house with laughter and lighthearted energy. Meanwhile, Lisa’s mother kept herself busy with her favorite pastime—puzzles—enjoying the quiet moment before the festivities began.
Dan, on the other hand, got ready at one of the Stage Neck Inn’s beautiful suites with his friends and father. As they sipped drinks and joked around, the focus shifted to the classic wedding preparations: tying bowties and pinning boutonnieres.
The couple’s ceremony took place on the inn’s lawn, which overlooks the Maine coastline. With the sound of waves gently crashing in the background, Lisa and Dan exchanged vows surrounded by nature’s beauty and their family and friends.
As the ceremony came to a close and Lisa and Dan walked back down the aisle, a delightful surprise awaited—their guests greeted them with bubbles! It was the perfect ending to a beautiful ceremony, setting the tone for the fun and whimsical celebration that would follow.
After the ceremony, the bubble guns became the signature accessory of the evening. Guests couldn’t resist grabbing them, and soon, bubbles filled the air during the couple’s grand entrance into the reception. The playful theme continued throughout the night, with bubbles even filling the dance floor as guests celebrated alongside Lisa and Dan. It was a lighthearted and joyful touch that kept everyone smiling and laughing well into the evening.
During the dinner, Dan had a special surprise for Lisa. He reached out to family and friends that couldn’t make their wedding and asked them to record a video for the reception. And at the very end and even bigger surprise! The lead signer for Guster made a video contratulating the couple before introducing their first dance – a song by Guster!
With the ocean as their backdrop and bubbles floating through the air, Lisa and Dan’s wedding day was a perfect reflection of the adventurous and fun life they are building together.
