There’s something truly magical about a wedding day that feels both deeply personal and effortlessly beautiful. On a sun-soaked Saturday in Bar Harbor, Samantha and Austin created just that, a celebration filled with heartfelt moments, breathtaking scenery, and the perfect love.
The weekend began at the Bar Harbor Inn, where Samantha and Austin were staying with their immediate families. Nestled along the water’s edge, this charming inn was the perfect place for the start to their intimate wedding celebration. As a Bar Harbor wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque start to the day.
Their first look took place in the lobby of the inn. Samantha came down the stairs to meet Austin, who was waiting with nervous excitement. The moment they saw each other, all nerves melted away. After sharing a quiet moment, we stepped outside into the gardens and scenic oceanfront for a series of couples and family portraits, framed by the sparkling harbor and my favorite ship, the Margaret Todd, just getting under sail.
Then came one of the highlights of the day: a ride in Oli’s Trolley up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. With laughter and anticipation in the air, we reached the summit where the panoramic views stretched out endlessly. It was here, among the weathered rocks and sweeping vistas, that Samantha and Austin said “I do.”
Samantha walked down a makeshift aisle with both of her parents by her side. The ceremony was simple, emotional, and full of meaning. Their pastor read from scripture, including a passage especially chosen for Samantha’s father, his favorite, which brought tears to his eyes.
After exchanging vows, rings, and promises, the couple took a brief walk around the mountaintop for more portraits, soaking in the epic views and the quiet joy of just being married.
Samantha and Austin’s wedding was a perfect blend of Maine’s natural beauty and personal connection. From the serene harbor to the majestic heights of Cadillac Mountain, every detail felt intentional and true to who they are.
