It’s always such a joy when I get to reconnect with couples after their wedding day, especially when it means capturing new chapters in their lives. The Z Family is one of those special families I’ve been lucky enough to photograph over the years. From their engagement session at Pemaquid Lighthouse with their three sweet pups, to their beautiful wedding day at the 1812 Farm near the lighthouse, and now to their Reid State Park family portraits, it feels like we’ve come full circle.
This time, I got to see them again with their daughter and of course their three very well-behaved dogs. Reid State Park in Georgetown, Maine, is such a stunning backdrop for family portraits. Between the sweeping ocean views, sandy stretches, and rugged rocky coastline, it has a little bit of everything that makes Maine so beautiful.
We wandered along the paths, played in the sand, and let the dogs enjoy being part of the fun. Their daughter brought so much joy to the session her giggles paired with the pups’ excitement made for the sweetest photos. It was also the perfect time to capture holiday card photos, giving their friends and family a glimpse into this exciting new season of their life.
I love being able to document these milestones, from saying “yes” to saying “I do” and everything that follows. Watching families grow and being trusted again and again to capture those moments is one of the greatest joys of being a Maine photographer.
