So we’ve had a weird winter! Lorrie and Michael’s engagement session they’d been planning for months at the Ice Castles in New Hampshire got changed at the last minute when they received an email saying that because it was so warm, the Ice Castles were going to be closed on the day they chose.
Thankfully they had rented the most gorgeous cabin that was just down the street from a perfectly (still frozen) lake. While there were definitely ice fishing shanties and people out on the lake, it was 50+ degrees out that day and we weren’t taking our chances by heading out there as well. But we did get to use the lake and the mountains as a beautiful backdrop.
And we even got to do a few things around Lorrie and Michael’s cabin that we wouldn’t have been able to do in the Ice Castles either – like pop champagne and let that spray everywhere and then have them cuddle up inside on the couch by the fire and roast some marshmallows over the wood stove. (We had plans for the outdoor fire pit but despite it being so warm, the outdoor pit was buried under knee deep snow and we couldn’t find it!)
Life and marriage are all about going with the flow and these two certainly know how to do it and have fun during the process! We can’t wait to lace up our hiking boots and hit the trails in the summer for their adventure wedding in the White Mountains!
