Marissa and Cameron’s wedding day was the perfect blend of tradition, sentiment, and seaside charm, everything you’d hope for in a classic New England celebration. As their Scituate Wedding Photographer, we loved every moment of documenting a day so deeply rooted in family history and meaningful connections.
The morning began in Braintree, where the couple got ready in separate rooms surrounded by their closest friends and family. Laughter echoed through both spaces. Marissa and her bridesmaids floating between champagne toasts, some donuts, and final details, while Cameron and his groomsmen shared jokes and made sure everyone looked sharp before climbing into their limos. Soon, both groups were off to St. Mary of the Nativity in Scituate for their ceremony.
Their church ceremony was full of heart. Not just one, but two priests with special ties to the couple and their families were present. The priest who led the ceremony also married Marissa’s parents and baptized both her and her brother. Meanwhile, the second priest had performed Cameron’s parents’ wedding. Listening to their stories, told with classic Boston accents (“hyde paahhk” included!), added an extra layer of warmth and nostalgia.
After the ceremony, guests bundled into their cars while Marissa and Cameron tucked into their limo for a quick warmup. Once everyone had cleared out, the newlyweds and wedding party gathered on the church steps for portraits before heading across the lawn for a spontaneous, giggly jog in the chilly autumn air.
Next, we made our way to one of Marissa and Cameron’s favorite places: Scituate Lighthouse. The breeze was brisk and the cold undeniable, but the setting sun cast a golden glow over the rocks, water, and the couple as they snuggled close for warmth. These portraits were some of the most romantic of the day.
Their Barker House wedding reception was the perfect final chapter to the daay. The couple spent time upstairs with their wedding party enjoying appetizers and drinks before the full celebration began. Speeches from Marissa’s father, her brother (the man of honor), and Cameron’s best man brought both laughter and tears. Then came the cake cutting, performed with Cameron’s sabre, which Marissa couldn’t resist waving with a grin, and a bouquet toss that one very excited bridesmaid claimed with laughter.
From beginning to end, Marissa and Cameron’s day was joyful, heartfelt, and beautifully them. A stunning fall wedding filled with meaning, history, and love.
