Robin and Shaun, along with their two adorable dogs, vacation in Bar Harbor every year. As Robin mentioned, she never in a million years thought she’d be coming here for a wedding! I’m so glad they did!!
The day started off with Shaun getting ready with his nephew and the pups at the neatest rental right down town. In all my years, I never knew this little area was nestled right off the main road practically behind Ben & Bills. And get this, it’s a Treehouse style cottage! Who wouldn’t want to stay among the treetops?
Robin was across town, in yet another adorable rental, where her mom and sister in law were staying. It was such a quiet area of the town. When I arrived the only buzz in the area was Robin, her mom and sister in law getting ready. She was very eager to get into her dress so we did just a few detail shots and then it was into her warm layers and dress. Despite the warm temps that day, Robin knew it would get cold along the water so she packed smart! Tights under the dress and a gorgeous white wool coat hand made from an artist on Etsy.
Soon after lacing up her hiking boots it was time to meet Shaun on the dock for their first look. We giggled as we arrived because we could see Robin’s nephew running across the park chasing one of the dogs who got loose of his leash!
From there we quickly dropped the pups back off at the rental so they wouldn’t have to worry about them throughout the park. They weren’t fond of the heat and sun that day!
We all jumped in the car and off we went to the ceremony spot. Robin was definitely spot on bringing along her wool coat! It was a bit breezy and with that about a 10+ degree temp drop. She looked amazing as her and Shaun hiked down to the water’s edge to exchange their vows. They even had a few extra witnesses as hikers stopped for a few minutes here and there to take in the ceremony.
After portraits throughout the park and a few downtown at sunset we wrapped the day in, what has become a tradition for our weddings in the park, with a stop at Ben & Bill’s Chocolate Emporium!
