There’s something incredibly special about getting to work with the same family again and again and this session was a perfect example. I’ve had the joy of photographing both of the bride’s siblings’ weddings and a fun-filled family session at their lake property, so stepping into this couple’s engagement session already felt like reconnecting with old friends.
We met at Short Sands Beach in York, Maine, a favorite coastal spot that always brings the charm. But this wasn’t just any beach session we brought along the full Adventure Picnic setup (shoutout to adventurepicnics.com) to transform the sandy shoreline into something extra cozy and romantic. Think plush pillows, lanterns, a low wooden table adorned with florals, and delicious treats all framed by the sound of waves and golden light.
The picnic wasn’t just a prop it became part of the experience. The couple laughed, snuggled close, and took their time soaking in the moment. These are the kinds of sessions I love most where the experience is the memory, not just the photos.
As the sun dipped lower, we capped off the evening with a classic beach tradition: s’mores. The warm evening breeze, gooey marshmallows, and sandy toes gave everything a relaxed, nostalgic vibe that felt so authentic.
