Have you ever been tempted to book a boudoir session? I know I (Brittany) was before we were married but back then, it wasn’t a big thing so it was very hard to find a photographer who wasn’t creepy! I so wish I had put more effort into finding a boudoir photographer before our wedding because now I’m doing these sessions for our couples and I’m so jealous! Two kiddos and a lot of tacos later, there’s no way I’m stepping in front of a camera in my undies! But you should!
Not only is it a fun gift for your spouse to be it’s also an amazing confidence booster! That’s one of the reasons I fell in love with photographing boudoir in the first place! We’ve had the most amazing women, and men!, step into the studio nervous about their session and then leave once the shoot is done feeling like they’re on cloud nine!
What to expect
When you first contact Brittany, you’ll notice that her brand for boudoir has changed. There was a bit of confusion with our name, Two Adventurous Souls, and WHO would be photographing the boudoir session. To fix that, Brittany rebranded the boudoir work as Dare by Brittany Rae so it’s perfectly clear that Brittany is the boudoir photographer! Some times we have men reach out and they feel more comfortable being photographed by Dean – we can certainly accommodate that! He has experience photographing “dudoir” and “couples boudoir” sessions as well!
After you reach out, the first thing is scheduling a meeting in the studio in Scarborough. Since these sessions are intimate it’s always nice to connect with you and show you the space. My goal from the start is to make it a fun and exciting experience for you, so meeting before hand gets you comfortable! In the meeting we will go over the different sets in the studio, ideas you have, and how to prep your wardrobe for the day!
After we’ve met, we get a date on the calendar that coordinates with one of our amazing hair and make up artists! You’re going to spend the first hour of the session getting glammed by one of Maine’s best stylists! It’s all part in making you feel like a rockstar for the day and having full hair and make up is a great way to feel like you’re on top of the world!
The session
Boudoir sessions can take place in our Scarborough studio, in your home, or on location! We know a few secluded beaches as well as some boutique hotels if you’re looking for something unique and a bit more daring!
We start really simply with you in a tee and undies or a sports jersey, etc. Something you might wear casually around the house. It’ll ease you into the session so you’re not immediately standing around in your slinkiest lingerie!
Post Session
It will be about two weeks after your session before you’re back in the studio to view your finished images. We do not put your proofs online in a gallery! For boudoir we work with a lot of clients that have jobs that would frown on these images hitting the web! While our galleries have the ability to be password protected there’s definitely wierdos out there who will try and hack a gallery – we’ve heard horror stories! And we definitely don’t want to have any chance where that can happen.
When you view your finished images you’ll be placing your order for prints, wall art, little black books at that time. Depending on which products you choose to display your finished images, the turn around time can be anywhere from 4 days to 3-4 weeks. During your initial consultation we will be talking about the turn around time and when you need your finished images by to make sure that the timeline works!
