Kevin and Doug's Summer Wedding at The ViewPoint Hotel | York, Maine
This was our first time at The ViewPoint Hotel since their new renovations and it was such a stunning backdrop for Doug and Kevin’s wedding this past weekend. Rain was in the forecast even up until that morning but Kevin and Doug were putting out so much good energy the weather did a full 180 and it was sunny and warm! Maybe a little too warm to be standing outside in suits but again, they came prepared with a second set of dress shirts for after the ceremony. A tip I’m going to keep in my pocket and share with future couples for our summer weddings!
It was a fun moment during the ceremony, officiated by the couples close friend, while Doug and Kevin were exchanging vows that they both joked about how they’ll never agree on who approached who first the night they met at a Boston night club. Actually there were so many fun moments throughout the day along with so many touching moments as well. I’m pretty sure between Kevin and Doug’s vows and the groomsmen speeches, including a touching tribute and toast to Kevin’s late brother, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
From the ceremony on the lawn overlooking Nubble Lighthouse to the cocktail hour on the lawn followed by the tented reception, it was such a beautiful event. Doug mentioned during his welcome and thank you speech that Kevin meticulously planned the entire day. He also worked tirelessly to design all of the signage, invitations, lighthouse themed seating chart and table signs.
The grooms have been planning their weddings for several seasons now, derailed by COVID, but I’m so glad that we got to meet them and work with them to cover their engagement and wedding! Kevin and Doug are the kindest, most genuine people and that was reflected in their day from everyone we talked to.
